The most rewarding part for being a dad is the quiet, everyday stuff that doesn’t look special from the outside: Watching them become more themselves over time — the way their personality, sense of humor, and little strengths start showing up — and realizing you get a front-row seat to that. The pure, unfiltered love they give back (especially when they’re little), and the knowledge that you’re the safe place they come to when the world feels big or hard.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I do it because my kids only get one childhood, and I refuse to waste it. Because the way i show up (or don’t) will shape how those kids see themselves, love, and the world for decades. Because they remember what it felt like to need a steady adult and either had one… or didn’t. And because the love cuts both ways — once you feel that pull, half-assing it just doesn’t sit right anymore. That’s the core reason most of me keep trying, even on the hard days.
How would you use the $25,000?
Fund experiences over things — a real family trip, summer camp, or lessons the kids actually want. • Put a chunk into education (college savings, private school help, or skills classes). • Fix something practical at home that makes daily life better (reliable car, safer house, better beds). • Keep a small portion for “fun dad” moments so the win still feels special. The best use is whatever reduces future pressure on the kids and creates memories they’ll still talk about in 20 years.
