The way your children love you and look at you. Whether you gain 5 pounds, miss a deadline at work, forget to take the trash out. They just love you for you and for being there for them. It's the purest love I have ever felt in my life. Also, seeing your kids utilize what you teach them whether it's how to control emotions or how to be responsible. Watching them be a better version of you.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because I want to break the chains of generational trauma. I want my boys to be everything I am not and everything they can be. I want to give them the tools at an early age that some people, myself including, only learn through therapy or harsh mistakes. I want to put four good strong men out into the world to be good fathers, neighbors, brothers, and husbands someday. I want them to be able to be proud of their name and where they came from. And whoever they marry be proud of the man they are.
How would you use the $25,000?
I have four boys ranging from 10 years old down to 6 and boy do we stay busy. We fish, hunt, ride and farm so we are always getting into something. Three out of four of my boys play traveling soccer, we are always traveling for sports or buying equipment. The $25,000 would help tremendously in paying for the team trips we can attend. If they try their hardest in soccer and it means the world to them then I will do everything in my power to let them chase every opportunity they earn.
