The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my daughter hit new milestones, learn, grow, and reflect the lessons I’ve poured into her. Nothing compares to the joy of being home and hearing her hype me up, or sitting front row at her dance recital while her beautiful smile lights up the entire room. I feel blessed and purposeful knowing that God entrusted me with the privilege of fathering this incredible gift.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because it's crucial in shaping my daughter's development. My father was deeply involved and instilled principles in me that still guide my life today. As someone many fathers and prospective fathers look up to and as a leader of a fatherhood community in DC, I know I have to lead with integrity and practice what I preach. It’s important to show up, be present, and stay committed, because our kids need us. Being a father isn’t just a title; it’s a responsibility, a calling, and blessing.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I was awarded the $25,000, I’d use the funds to expand my service work by hosting another community service initiative at a local DMV shelter where I served food, gave out gifts, clothes, shoes, hygiene products, out of pocket and with support from friends.I invest in my daughter’s future, build savings, pay down debt, and bless my wife, parents, and in‑laws. I’d also buy gift cards to support homeless individuals I meet on my commute. I love to serve, and this would allow me to do even more.
