The rewarding part of being a dad is watching my children become their own people. I don't need them to become a smaller version of me. I want them to become stronger, kinder, more confident versions of themselves. When they make good choices, take responsibility, stand up for themselves, show compassion, or overcome something difficult, I see the lessons taking root. Those moments show me that fatherhood isn't about creating children who need you forever. It's about preparing them for life.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my kids are watching, even when I don't realize it. I can't ask them to be accountable, compassionate, resilient, or respectful if I'm not willing to live those values myself. I know I'm helping shape the adults they will become. I'm not raising children who simply obey me. I'm raising people who know their worth, own their choices, treat others with kindness, and have the courage to stand on their own. My job isn't to make their path easy. It's to prepare them to walk it.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use the $25,000 to create experiences and opportunities my children will carry long after the money is gone. I’d invest in time together, lasting memories, new interests, skills, and experiences they might not otherwise have. I’d also invest in something lasting for our family. Being a dad isn’t about giving my kids everything they want. It’s about giving them experiences, knowledge, confidence, and memories that shape who they become. I want to turn money into memories that last a lifetime.
