Getting to watch my two boys become their own people, all while knowing I am helping shape who they become. It’s not just cheering them on or coaching their sports teams. It’s the little everyday moments, the conversations, laughs, and projects around the house. Most rewarding of all is watching them blossom into kind young men who will become leaders in the classroom and their community. Knowing I get to be their dad is the greatest reward I could ever ask for!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My dad died when I was just three years old, so I grew up knowing one thing. Someday, I would become the dad I never had. That promise I drives me to be present, dependable, and the example my two boys deserve. It also goes deeper than just my own home. As a coach, I want every child on my teams and in my community to have a positive role model who believes in them, encourages them, and shows them what it means to lead with kindness.
How would you use the $25,000?
After multiple back injuries, and with another MRI scheduled this afternoon, I would use the money to transform our backyard into a space my family can enjoy together. Our 30-year-old above-ground pool needs to be removed, but the physical and financial demands have kept the project out of reach. I’d create a welcoming place where grilling, watching my boys play, and spending time outside feels natural again. A backyard where we can proudly host family gatherings and team parties.
