So many things about fatherhood have its perks. Watching the kids learn and seeing when ideas and talents develop. Being a witness to the kind acts they practice to their peers as they navigate life. It’s nice to be there as a source of comfort in the low times and sharing those big wins in life. Love sharing the nostalgic places and experiences I visited and did as a kid. Seeing them grow into their community and slowly letting them have independence is nerve wrecking as it is exciting to see.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I have 4 boys and it is important to set a standard for them to be respectful, helpful and engaging in their community. Having a father who required excellence helped guide me to my professional and personal successes. It is critical part of personal development to have empathy, resilience and an open mind to be successful in life. It’s every parents goal to set your child up for success financially but I find it’s also crucial they learn the importance of lifting up the others around you too.
How would you use the $25,000?
We have been fortunate enough to recently have purchased a fixer upper house. We would buy tools and supplies to make the house a home. Having the kids participate in fixing up the house has been fun, rewarding and a huge lesson in patience for all of us. Kids learned early that driving to the hardware store multiples times a day is a fact of life. It’s been fun being able to fix and beautify our house little by little. Spending this time together and being proud of the work we put in is special
