Hearing your kid laugh. A full hearted, gut-busting chuckle. Or on father's day when asking my son what he wants to be when he grows up, and he says, "I wanna be just like Dad." It's about taking pride in the little moments, seeing your child thriving and being kind to others. It's also super rewarding to watch campy old Godzilla movies and then play wrestle, knocking over pillows that look like buildings.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
With parenting, and life in general, you get back what you put in. Time, attention, love earn more in interest than stocks, bonds and savings accounts. Life is short. Time with your kids as KIDS is short. I spent the better half of my son's first 2 years cleaning the ever-loving HECK out of my house, forcing me to live 100 miles away from my family. It made the national news but I lost a lot of time with my son. Treasure what time you have, and make every minute count!
How would you use the $25,000?
I've blown past that much in a month this year on our remodel. Long story short - in addition to tearing down the top story to the studs, the basement flooded. There's a LOT, and I mean a LOT of repairs my home needs right now. But other families need it more. What I could very much use is some coaching from Adam on writing my dark comedy memoir. Put the money towards rabies awareness and children's hospitals having enough dosage. Our son's life may have ended if Mary Bridge didn't have any.
