The positive change and personal growth I have experienced being the father of children with special needs, as well as having a total of four children and the unique experiences that alone has presented to me. To get to be a part of larger communities and organizations, and to be able to advocate for each of my children, as well as for the Down syndrome and autistic communities as well; especially among military and veteran families.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Growing up as the son of a single father, I know directly the feeling of having an absent parent. I put forth every effort to demonstrate to my children that they come first always, and that I will be present at every opportunity and milestone in their life. I want them to know that I gave them the best opportunity possible and championed them even during their hardest times. As the father of two special needs children, I always rise to meet their needs and give them as much support as possible.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would help my children’s future by investing it into their individual 529 plan accounts for higher education.
