Seeing my boys try to be like me. They’re 4 & 2, and when I’m not home my wife tells me how they walk around the house doing things that I do, and tell her “Look, I’m just like Daddy!”. It’s a sobering reminder that they are watching my every move, which challenges me to be better and do better, knowing that what they want to be is me.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My example of a father growing up was present and loving. I knew how I felt as a kid being involved with my Dad, but what I didn’t know was the struggles he was facing juggling working and family, but managed to still give me a great life. Now as a father I experience those same struggles, but still remembering the feelings as a child of the importance and lasting feeling of love and involvement, keeps me going every day.
How would you use the $25,000?
We have 3 children and hope for a 4th so $5,000 to each of their 529 accounts. The remainder would be spent on outdoor play space to encourage more immersive exercise and activity while they learn from home with my wife.
