The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my daughter grow—seeing her gain values that help others, learn new skills and use them in different ways, enjoy simply being a kid without future worries, and knowing she’s mirroring the best parts of her mother and me. Knowing my daughter is learning the skills to take care of herself makes me full of pride but also heartbreaking as I always want to be my little girls dad. I truly value every moment I have with her watching her do everything.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can because I want to show other dads that income or personal challenges don’t define fatherhood. What matters is being there, doing your best, and giving your child the same steady love and effort you’d hope they give others in life including herself. We often look around at each other and feel its a race whether its the newest electronic device or name brand clothes. What I hope is someday when I cannot be with her anymore that she remembers to just try her best.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I had $25,000, I’d set up an account to help my daughter chase every part of life—goals, adventures, and the fun moments that shape who she becomes. Not just work or education, but trips, experiences, and memories that let her grow, explore, and enjoy the world in her own way. She may not know about this money until she needs to know this money exists either as it would be there to help her when needed. We all need a helping hand sometimes, this would be great for my daughter in that respect.
