The most rewarding part is watching the values I try so hard to model for my son show up in his own choices, especially when no one is watching. Seeing him choose kindness, empathy, honesty, respect, or stand up for someone because that’s simply who he is becoming means more to me than any accomplishment. It’s the moments when I realize he isn’t just hearing what I tell him, he’s absorbing how I try to live.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because it’s what my son deserves. He deserves a dad who is present, intentional, keeps learning, and models the values I hope he carries into his own life. I won’t always get it right, but I want him to grow up knowing that being his dad was never something I took for granted.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d love to turn the $25,000 into memories my son and I will still be talking about when he’s grown. I’d plan an adventure together, let him help choose something he’s always wanted to try, and set a portion aside for his future. I’d also have him help choose a way we could give back, using some of the money and our time to do something kind for others together. I want him to experience how good it feels to help someone without expecting anything in return.
