Getting to experience life through her eyes. Seeing her get excited about something that I might normally take for granted. I think being a dad gives you this opportunity to create these little moments that she might not remember forever, but you will. I’m helping shape the kind of person she becomes. Knowing I can make this little person laugh, feel safe, and have a good time in this world…there’s really nothing better than that.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because she deserves the best version of me. I know I’m not perfect, and I never will be, but I want her to grow up knowing that she was loved, supported, listened to, and that her dad would always show up for her. I want to give her the kind of childhood she’ll look back on and smile about. And honestly, I want to be the person she can always count on. I want her to remember me as the dad who made life feel a little more fun, a little more safe, and a lot more loved.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’ve been putting off a trip to Disney World for some time now, mainly because of not being able to afford the time off from work. I definitely want to take her before she is too old to appreciate it (she is 9 now). I never had a family vacation as a kid, let alone Disney world, so it would be amazing to do that for her. There will definitely be photographic evidence to back up this claim if I were to win!
