The most rewarding thing about being a dad is being a part of their journey. If you’re present enough, you get the unique opportunity to watch them grow and change over time. Out of all the jobs that I’ve had, being a father has been the most challenging but also the most rewarding. I don’t think I’ll ever look back and regret being involved in each stage of their young lives.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best father I can be because I don’t want to live with any regrets. I don’t want to look back on the days of their youth and wish I would have done something different. Or wish I didn’t prioritize them over anything or anyone. Even if it means putting them first and yourself last. Time is something that you cannot take for granted, and I believe I would be an absolute fool to waste any part of it. Day by day, week by week, I hope to not miss a thing and have regrets.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to support my three children. Money can buy a lot of things, but it can also alleviate the stress of not having enough money to support your kids. Work can get in the way of being able to spend that quality time with your children. That is partly why I went back to school, to work in a school. So then I’d have all the snow days, holiday breaks and summers off with them. Most of all, the $25,000 would allow me and my wife more time and energy invested in our kids lives.
