Seeing joy, and being the reason for that joy, not just in my kids, but my family as a whole. I work hard to give both my son and daughter the childhood they deserve full of experiences, learning, fun, and love. Also, there is nothing like landing a perfect dad joke, especially the ones that go over their heads. There’s a power in that silliness that doesn’t exist when you’re not a dad.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The world is hard. Growing up is tough. I want to show them the value of hard work, but also that when it’s time, dad can shut that out and be present for them. Riding on my shoulders, wrestling, racing cars through the house, my daughter giving me a pedicure. Those core memories now are far more valuable than any toy or *thing* could ever be, and I want them to be prepared for life while fully enjoying being a kid and having a giant kid for a dad.
How would you use the $25,000?
I had a bump in the road of my career in 2025 which set us back but allowed me to start doing more house projects and being home more. The money would go to converting our outdoor patio of our 130-year-old house to a screened in mud room for our active outdoor kids who live to play outside. It would improve our day-to-day, and the kids would love knowing that the project was done because dad won a contest doing what he loves the most - being their dad.
