The most rewarding part of being a dad is seeing my kids smile, grow, and become their own little people. I love being present for the moments they’ll remember and knowing that simply showing up means the world to them. Growing up, I watched my dad work two jobs and still make it to every game, award ceremony, and important moment. Now I get to understand that love from the other side. One of my greatest rewards is knowing I get to be for my kids what my dad was for me.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because of the example my dad, uncles, and grandfathers set for me. They were proud providers who worked hard, but they never let us see them hurting or let their responsibilities keep them from showing up. Whether it was a big milestone or simply playing catch, they were always there. They taught me that being a great dad means more than providing—it means being present, dependable, and making your children feel loved every day.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to help cover my son’s medical expenses, make cherished memories with a special trip while he can still walk, and explore wheelchair-accessible modifications for our home and car. I pray his condition improves, but I want to make the most of every moment together. I would also donate a portion to Duchenne muscular dystrophy research and organizations working toward better treatments and a cure.
