For me, it's was about earning that titleand feeling the love when my kids would call me Dad. I was a Foster parent and received my Son when he was just 9 months old. He was both physically and mentally abused which made him afraid of men in the beginning. I was in a Court room on my Birthday receiving the Best present. I was able to legally adopt my Son and give him my last name. My daughter was born when my son was about 18 months old making the perfect family combo for me.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I didn't have a Father figure growing up. My Great Grandmother raised me on her own. I have always strived to be what I hoped was the best possible Father and support for my children. That's why it's been so rewarding for me every time I hear them call me Dad. Anyone can be a Father , but being a Dad for my kids means more for me.
How would you use the $25,000?
To help my kids get a little better start when they are becoming parents themselves. I never feel like I am able to express just how Proud I am of them and just being their Dad.
