The most rewarding part is realizing my kids don’t need a perfect dad—they just need me. Hearing “Dad!” when I walk through the door, watching them learn something new, or being the person they run to when they’re scared makes every exhausting day worth it. I get to watch little humans become who they’re meant to be, while hopefully teaching them to be kind, strong, and never give up. Honestly, being their dad is the greatest thing I’ve ever done.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because my kids are watching me, even when I don’t realize it. I want them to grow up knowing what hard work, love, responsibility and perseverance look like. I won’t always get everything right, but I’ll always show up, keep fighting, and put my family first. I want my kids to look back someday and say, “Dad gave us everything he had.” If I can give them that, I’ve done my job.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use the $25,000 to give my family something every dad wants most: stability and memories. I’d take care of the financial pressure that keeps me up at night, put some toward creating a better home for my kids, and use part of it to take my family on a trip we’ll talk about for years. I don’t want to just spend $25,000. I want to turn it into security, experiences, and memories my kids will carry with them long after the money is gone.
