I think the most rewarding part of being a dad is raising a strong young woman. It’s not always fun being the test dummy or the punching bag, but knowing that my daughter is strong, willful, and won’t be pushed around is worth it!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad because I only get to do this once. After my daughter was born, we almost lost my wife a week later to postpartum reversible vasoconstriction syndrome. We were advised that we would not be able to have other children without extreme risk to my wife. Since we only get one shot at this, I strive to be present, be active, and be a representation to my daughter of what love, compassion, and perseverance looks like in a partner.
How would you use the $25,000?
This would be a great addition to her college fund, but that is almost TOO responsible. With the $25,000 I would build a playground, a cut flower garden and a greenhouse. Aside from playing outside, climbing and swimming, my daughter loves flowers, picking them caring for them, making bouquets all of the above anything to do with flowers she is all about it.
