I absolutely love getting to watch my kids grow, learn and succeed. It feels great knowing that I am always available for them when they something fixed, need advice or information and even sometimes money. Also, actually feeling the love from them and knowing that they are grateful for the sacrifices I made so they could have a better life than I did.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because I want to be the father I never had. My father walked away when I was very young. He came back when I was 12. I didn't see him again after that until I was in my early 20s and that's when he asked me for money. He left again and I didn't see him until my mid 30s. I never want my kids to feel unloved or unwanted. Kids should never feel like they're a choice so I live everyday to make sure my kids know they are loved.
How would you use the $25,000?
I've never been able to give my family an actual vacation. We've always had to worry about money. I would take my wife and kids on a dream vacation. Something like a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas. Just to give them the memories of having the time of their lives and not having to hear "we can't afford that right now" would be the highlight of my life. I'm sure it would be the highlight of theirs as well.
