The most rewarding part is watching my son become himself. I see the love, patience, and guidance I give him reflected in the incredible kid he is—kind, attentive, curious, and confident. He understands so much, learns quickly, and is developing his own personality. Seeing him feel safe enough to be authentic, believe in himself, and let his light shine is the most beautiful reward I could ever receive.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I grew up without a present father. I had to learn many things about becoming a man on my own. Now I have the opportunity to give my son what I didn’t have—not from a place of pain, but of presence. I want to guide him, teach him healthy habits, kindness, respect, confidence, and how to treat others, while giving him the freedom and security to become his own person. I don’t want him to become me; I want to give him the tools to become fully himself.
How would you use the $25,000?
The first thing I would do is invest it in my son’s education. My mother raised four children on her own after my father left. She never finished elementary school, yet through sacrifice and hard work, she made sure all four of us earned college degrees. Her father once told her education was unnecessary for women. She broke that cycle for us. I want to honor her legacy by giving my son even greater opportunities, so I would invest the $25,000 in an education fund for his future.
