The pride I have in the daily interactions with him. Seeing his personality reveal itself a little more each day. Hearing “dad” around friends but still “daddy” when it’s just us. And our projects together-building things for our home, for fun, to share with others. He’s brilliant, and a tinkerer so we’ve always got something partially done in the garage.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
There is no “why” other than just him. It’s the most natural thing I’ve ever experienced, and it’s easy to do, even when it’s hard. The only man who ever hopes that you’re better than him, is a father. So I teach him the things that were taught to me, and dig deeper so he can be a better man than I am.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use it to open a college fund for him. This brilliant kid wants to be a weatherman but has so much potential that I can’t wait to see how many times that goal changes or what it changes to.
