The most rewarding part about being a dad to me is watching my daughter grow and as the years go by I notice things about her mother and myself in her. The way she talks, her mannerisms and watching her learn new stuff every single day. I love when she comes home from school excited to tell me about something new that she’s learned. I love how excited she is every time I go pick her up from daycare at the end of the day. Seeing her grow and light up with excitement makes it all worth it!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Before my wife passed still tried my best to always be attentive and caring, but especially now that she’s already lost her mother I don’t ever want my daughter to feel like she lost both of her parents. I had started going to therapy, I’m still working full-time, but I make sure to bring my daughter to all of her therapy appointments, I put her in any sport that she feels like she wants to try. At the end of the day I just want her growing up knowing how much I loved her.
How would you use the $25,000?
I plan to use the $25,000 as a down payment to buy my own house for my daughter and myself. After my wife passed, we moved in with my parents, which was the best for us at the time. Now that sometime has passed, I’m ready for my daughter and I to go back out on our own. I’ve never owned a home, but I want us to have a place that is ours that I can give to her one day when she’s older that is filled with love and great memories.
