It has to be the joy I get from watching my kids learn and grow. I love teaching them every day. I’m constantly using bigger words to challenge their vocabulary and get them thinking. Every time we play in the yard, we’re putting in work to get that much better. I give my boys, 4 and 6, a lot of responsibility, but I also give them a lot of support along the way. Watching them learn, grow, and become more capable every day is hard to beat. And when I get those big hugs and “I love you, Dad”s,
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
It’s easy. I love my family, and I would do anything for them. My parents split when I was very young, and I didn’t get to see my dad that much growing up. Thankfully, I got to see him more and more as I got older. Because of that, I promised myself I would work extremely hard to give my children an active father—one who puts in the work every day to be present, involved, and there for them. I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to be the best dad I can be.
How would you use the $25,000?
Unfortunately, I think we’d pay off some debt. But I’d love to take the family on a vacation. My wife and I dream about going back to the place where we got married for our ten-year anniversary. We celebrate our anniversary as a family and call it our “family’s birthday,” because when we got married, our family was born. Since then, it has blossomed into such a loving, strong, and beautiful family. I’d love to make a core memory together by taking everyone back down to see where it started
