What is Super Dad?
Learn MoreWhat's the most rewarding part about being a dad?
Watching my daughter apply the lessons I’ve taught her and seeing them shape the person she is becoming. I know I can’t protect her from every challenge, but I can prepare her to face them with strength, confidence, compassion, ethics and good judgement. Knowing she carries those lessons with her gives me peace and reminds me that, even when I’m no longer here on Earth, she will be okay.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want to provide opportunities to others that I didn’t have as a child. I want others to know that no matter what life brings, they have someone who will always believe in them, support them and hold them accountable. I want people to see me as a human with flaws, not all the answers, makes mistakes, apologizes, grow and keep a positive mindset. My goal is to raise and education children who are confident, compassionate, independent and prepared to make good life decisions.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to help with the clean up efforts in my hometown of Gary, IN. Recently, a tornado (Derecho) ripped throughout Northwest Indiana leaving residents without power. The median income in Gary, IN is $38,731 with 33.1% living below the poverty line due to economic hits from the steel industry and lack of resources from the state. Some of the money will go towards creating programming for my students in the Chicago and Gary Public Schools.
