The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my boys grow into their own personalities while seeing pieces of me in them. I love sharing the things I enjoy—hunting, fishing, running, and soccer—and watching those become their passions too. It also challenges me to live the example I want them to follow. I hope my legacy is that of a patient father, a loving husband, and a faithful man of God who showed his sons how to live with purpose and love.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I want my boys to become better men than I am and surpass me in every area of life. I hope they can look back one day and say, “Our dad was awesome. He did everything in his power to love us and raise us to be the best men we could be.” Most of all, I want to give them an example they can build upon so that, when they become fathers, they can be even better dads than me.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to pay down debt our family has accumulated while living on one income. We made this sacrifice so we could raise and homeschool our boys, giving them a strong, personalized education and more time together as a family. This prize would ease a burden we face every day, provide greater financial stability, and help us continue giving our children the upbringing and opportunities we believe will prepare them for a bright future.
