The most rewarding part about being a dad is seeing the happiness and joy in my kids eyes and smiles and seeing them advance in their life skills. Even if it’s the smallest of victories, like an extra step, another word said, learning to read a new word. Seeing them happy means the world to me.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I didn’t have my dad growing up. For 15 years I had a step dad who was there for me sometimes and turned me down when I needed him the most. I knew the heartache and pain of not having a dad. I’ve always vowed that I didn’t want to become like them and be the dad that I never had. I wanted to be the father that my kids looked up to. That I would look up to. Like I looked up to my grandfather. He’s my Superman.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to finally not have to worry about if there’s enough food for another meal. Keep up with truck maintenance and gas so I could be able to continue to take my kids to school, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Provide my kids with what they need such as clothes, housing, treatment that could be denied by insurance. Build a solid financial foundation for me and the kids to prepare for the future.
