It's that quiet pride in seeing her grow. Knowing I showed up every day, even when it was hard, that I traded comfort for commitment. That my hands might ache from work, but my heart's full because she's safe, she's loved, she's mine.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be by meeting my daughter in her world, not asking her to fit into mine. I learn the games she loves, listen to her music, watch her movies, and take an interest in the things that make her happy. I want her to always know that she is seen, heard, accepted, and loved exactly as she is. More than anything, I want to be the dad she knows will always show up for her.
