It’s funny, when they are little you don’t ever want them to grow up. But as they do if you take a second to step back and watch them learn to make decisions based on things that you instill in them, it’s kind of rewarding to be able to say I taught her that. Then now that they are teenagers, they want to be independent but those moments when they don’t know what to do or who to vent to, it feels even better when they choose you to come to for help.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My dad died when I was 8. A few uncles stepped in here and there with words of wisdom, some of which stuck, but it isn't the same. But losing him young has always made me worry how my daughter would turn out if something happened to me, so I make sure to teach her how to do things, and to do them right, including that if someone needs help, you help them. So when her best friend became homeless, it wasn't a question. We took her in, and we're now in the process of getting guardianship.
How would you use the $25,000?
Most likely pay off some credit card debt and hopefully have enough left over to get the girls some decent cars, one wants to rebuild an old F-150, and the other wants a new jeep so I guess we’ll see 😅. If I had any extra I also wouldn't mind buying another smoker, and I really enjoy 3D printing, so probably would pick up another 3D printer, idk who knows lol
