One of the most rewarding parts of being a dad is watching my child grow. From his first steps and first words to the moments when he begins discovering who God created him to be, there is something incredibly special about being there for it all. As a father I get to celebrate victories, encourage through their failures, and remind my son that his identity is not found in success, popularity, or accomplishments, but in being loved by God.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad possible because I know firsthand how much a father can impact a child’s life. My own experience with my dad has shaped the kind of father I want to be. My dad was incarcerated until I was 12 years old, and growing up without him being present during those important early years left an emptiness that I carried with me. I cannot change the circumstances of my childhood, but I can choose what kind of father I will be to my own children.
How would you use the $25,000?
One of my biggest dreams is to grow our family. I want to have more children and create a loving, stable home where they can grow up knowing they are loved, supported, and surrounded by faith. Because of that, I would use this money wisely to help establish our financial foundation sooner rather than later. Instead of looking at $25,000 as money to spend quickly, I would look at it as an opportunity to invest in our future.
