Watching my three boys grow into their own little people. Seeing their confidence grow, watching them learn, coaching them through hard things and hearing “Dad, look!” about 100 times a day. Knowing they feel safe, loved and supported by me is something I’ll never take for granted. At the end of the day, being the guy they look up to is probably the greatest responsibility and privilege I’ll ever have.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my boys are watching even when I don’t realize it. How I treat their mom, how I work, how I handle failure, how I take care of myself and how I show up when life gets hard. That’s what they’re learning from. I’m not trying to be a perfect dad. I want to be a present one. I want to raise three good men who work hard, love their families, treat people well and know their dad was always in their corner.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use it to create more time and memories with my family. With three boys, life moves ridiculously fast, and I’m realizing more every year that we only get so many summers, trips, games and ordinary Saturdays with them while they’re little. I’d put some away for their futures, but I’d also use part of it to take our family on an unforgettable trip. Money comes and goes. Getting this time with my wife and boys doesn’t.
