Seeing absolute joy and awe in my kids eyes as they experience something new, accepting their pure love along with their handmade cards, crafts and everything else and putting up at my desk. Witnessing my kids reach a point where they are passing on kindness, help, pride, authenticity, courage, compassion and grace to other kids, parents or other adults. Recognizing we are doing a perfect job, but we are doing a great job raising these kids to stand strong, become capable adults and contributors
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I didn't have a dad to lend some of what I want to pass onto my kids. That almost made it a challenge for me to strive to do all that I can to give my kids what I didn't have, not just in material things. To make sure they learn the right was to look at things, it isn't losing its learning, its not work its a contribution, it builds competence and understanding. To help them grow to be resilient young humans and while they face a critical ever changing world the optimism to know they can do it!
How would you use the $25,000?
Likely I'd split into three buckets. First experience, plan a trip or some amazing family experience for us all to enjoy together, my kids are almost all at the age to really appreciate traveling, but it could be as simple as disney world or as wild as yellowstone. I'd probably push another third into their 529 accounts for college because early is better than later. Finally, I'd probably split something for us and something for our school, our church or another family with this blessing.
