Seeing my son succeed or fail. The point is he tries. He’s futbol (yes trying to learn the lingo) crazy. I love watching him take the initiative to go outside on his own. Probably gets that from his mother. We are divorced and he lives with her but we both put in effort to co-parent as well as we know how. The only thing I can do is support his endeavors as much as possible.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
It’s simply because my dad did. He was a farmer both grain and livestock so I never got to see him as often as he’d have liked. But he made time too. I’d fall asleep in the combine cab with him, he’d drive to take us fishing at 4am to be there by morning, and I worked beside him when I got a little older. I learned how to work hard, don’t stop, and do it right not just good enough. I want to help instill those qualities in my son. So he’s their for his.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would take him on a trip. He is in love with Denmark so there for a week. See the sights, LEGO headquarters, and hopefully at least one futbol match. The rest would go to his education. I don’t care if it’s trade school, college, or a more advanced degree. Investing in his education is important to both his mother and I.
