The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my children learn and grow. I met my wife when our daughter was four, so I missed her baby years. But when my wife worked nights, I helped Sophia with homework. I'll never forget how one night she struggled to read, and then overnight she was reading books. That’s when I truly felt like her dad. Now, with my 18-month-old daughter and 3-week-old son, I get to experience those first steps, words, and “I can do it” moments from the beginning.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I’ve never really thought about why I strive to be a good dad, because honestly, it doesn’t feel like something I strive for. I love being with my kids and my wife. I cherish being a dad to my family because I get to share my life with people I love more than anything. I feel incredibly blessed to have the family I have, so I don’t think of fatherhood as something I have to work toward, but as an opportunity I’m grateful to have every single day.
How would you use the $25,000?
With baby #3 here, I officially lost my home office; it’s now Otto's new bedroom. So, if I win the $25,000, I’m finally finishing our basement: half family hangout, half Dad office. A place for movie nights, game time, and maybe a quiet corner where I can send a few emails or make a work call. And considering the amount of lumber, tools, and supplies I’ll need, I feel like Ace Hardware and I are going to be expanding our friendship with this project!
