I love watching kids discover who they can become. With nine kids in our blended family, I get nine very different front-row seats to that process. Sometimes it's a big accomplishment; sometimes it's a hard conversation, a long drive, or simply being there when they need Dad. Coaching wrestling has given me that same privilege with hundreds of other kids. Few things mean more to me than watching a kid begin to believe in themselves because someone believed in them first. My turn to pass that on.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I've learned the hard way that life doesn't always look like you thought it would. Our family has experienced loss, divorce, distance, second chances, and the beautiful chaos of blending two families into nine kids. I can't give my children a perfect life, and I won't be a perfect dad. But I can show up. I want each of them to know, without question, that Dad loves them, believes in them, and will keep fighting for a relationship with them no matter what life brings.
How would you use the $25,000?
With nine kids, life is wonderfully full—and expensive. Years of navigating distance, family changes, and simply making sure I can keep showing up for my kids have created financial pressure. $25,000 would give our family something incredibly valuable: breathing room. It would help with the everyday costs of raising nine kids and let me spend a little less energy worrying about finances and more energy doing what matters most—being Dad, showing up, and making memories with them.
