The most rewarding part of being a dad is getting to watch my kids experience life for the first time. Seeing them get excited about the smallest things, watching their personalities develop, and knowing I get to be there through all of it and help shape who they become. They’ve taught me to slow down, appreciate the little moments, and realize that those are probably the moments I’ll miss the most someday. I’m enjoying each moment now but I can’t wait to show them even more as they get older.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can because I know I only get one chance to raise my kids. I want them to look back someday and know I was there, that I made time for them, and that they never had to question how much I loved them and there was nothing more important than them. I’m going to make mistakes, but I want to keep learning, growing, and being better for them. I have a great Dad, and I’d like to build on that and teach them some of the things my Dad never thought to teach me.
How would you use the $25,000?
Money isn’t everything, but $25k could make a meaningful difference for our family. I’m a saver, not much of a spender, so I’d want to be smart with it. I’d put some aside for each of my boys, invest some for our future, and take my family on a real vacation—something we rarely get to do. I’d also put some toward a family-friendly truck. With two car seats and my height, our current vehicles aren’t exactly comfortable! I also want to make camping more enjoyable without the need for 2 vehicles.
