Seeing the positive impact on my children AND their friends, and their friends' dads. It's not my goal to be "the man", but it happens when a man remains positive in an environment of uncertainty and doubt. Seeing others be encouraged by something I've said/ done is very fulfilling. It also gives my kids something to emulate and be proud of who their dad is. As a retired combat veteran, we lead by example. Knowing my kids have a great example IS the greatest reward!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Being the best dad i can be is both internally and externally driven. Internally, it gives me great joy to see them transition into responsible, junior leaders among their peers. Externally, I am equipping them to be leaders of their own families and carry the standard forward through generations. Not just for our family, but to as many as they can positively impact. One dad can make a difference!
How would you use the $25,000?
Being a retired veteran with combat injuries, monetary resources are often thin. I'd first make a donation to my local church, take my family on an overdue, mini-vacay, and buy my wife a new vehicle.
