First thing that comes to mind is hearing my baby girl say “baba”. It’s the sweetest and most precious thing I’ve ever heard. It brings me show much joy and it’s still surreal to me that I’m a dad. I think the other thing I am so proud and fortunate to do is having the time to spend time with my daughter. I’m blessed to have some flexibility where I can really see my daughter grow and learn and show her what a fatherly figure is just like how my dad has shown me, it’s so rewarding.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
As a man, being emotionally vulnerable can be hard but with the support from my wife I can be that. Showing my baby girl that a man can be emotional and vulnerable, and that I am a safe space. Although she’s a baby/toddler right now, building that foundation in my own life to be the best dad I can be is an amazing opportunity. Being open, honest and loving through good and hard times is how I want to be the best dad possible. Coming from a family of boys I have much to learn about raising a girl
How would you use the $25,000?
My family is growing, I’ve recently purchased a home since we have a baby now. So I’d use the money to pay off some of the house loans. I’d put a lot into her education fund as well and maybe take my daughter and wife somewhere to relax. It’s been a tough year this year, I’ve been away on and off for military training which has been hard on my wife and it’s been tough for me to be away. But now that I’m back at home spending quality time is how I want to give back for time lost.
