It’s witnessing the shift from teaching my kids values to seeing them come to life through their own words & actions. It's being so proud of them, watching them handle challenges with integrity, showing genuine kindness, & stepping up to help others in need. Knowing that the daily lessons of compassion & character have taken root & are now guiding their actions is the greatest fulfillment & reward. My wife deserves just as much credit in all this, I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want to build a foundation of integrity & resilience for our home & within my kids. I have a responsibility to equip them with the tools to navigate life, its trials, set backs & successes. My goal is to show them that their faith, being positive, hardworking & using their skills & talents to help others, is the most meaningful legacy I can leave to them. I do the best I can to reinforce this, even when it means owning my mistakes, sharing with my kids what I learned & how I grew from them.
How would you use the $25,000?
My wife & I love our parents, they’ve done so much for us & raised us with the very values we are passing to our kids. Faced with the reality of them getting older & wanting to help them, we chose to defer some of our moving plans upon selling our home & built close to them, very close to my wife’s ;) I’m doing a lot of the work myself. We are nearly finished but from the very start we encountered a few costly set backs, 20K will help offset some of those costs & the other 5k will be donated.
