The most rewarding part about being a dad is seeing my son learn in real time while we’re spending time together. Sometimes when I don’t even realize that he’s paying attention to me, he will bring something to show me that he made and it’ll be something he seen me do in the garage when we’re tinkering. To know he watches and learns from me is very rewarding. It makes me feel like I’m doing something right.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad because I never want my son to feel the way I felt growing up. I am able to give him the life and love that every little boy needs. I strive to be a good role model for him, to spend quality time with him, to teach him things, to show him that he’s important and he is loved. He is deserving of the best childhood possible and I strive every day to give him that.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use some of it to take my son on a big fishing trip. Fishing is one of our favorite things to do together. I would also get a swimming pool. We have wanted a swimming pool for a long time and it’s something that would make my family very happy.
