The greatest reward of being a dad is helping my kids learn new skills, and giving advice to others who call me when they need dad wisdom. It’s knowing I’m their first call, whether they’re in trouble or in love. Being their emotional anchor and earning that absolute trust is a heavy but welcome responsibility. I actively choose to be a steady compass for the people I love, guiding them through both their storms and their celebrations.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be, helping my kids find a grounded sense of purpose and teaching them to keep their word. I want my sons to grow into responsible men, and perhaps fathers themselves. For my daughters, I hope the way I treat their mother shows them the respect to look for in a future husband, as she models what it means to be a lady.
How would you use the $25,000?
Since we're bursting at the seams, I want to fulfill my dream of building our next home with my own hands, teaching my kids valuable skills along the way. My wife and I love our community, and we want to build a lasting legacy by creating a welcoming space. I plan to include a large garage to help others with projects and car repairs, finding as many ways as possible to serve others in our home.
