The most rewarding part of being a dad is the privilege of shaping a boy into a man of character - while watching him become his own person. Carrying the responsibility to guide and model integrity may seem heavy, but nothing compares to seeing him build his own skills, discover his passions, and learn from his own experiences. Watching him take the foundation we're building and apply it in his own unique way, growing into a strong, independent young man, is the greatest honor in my life.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Growing up without my dad taught me early how heavy absence weighs. I swore my son would never know that feeling. I refuse to let him search for a role model in the wrong places or look to anyone else for the guidance only a father should provide. My goal is to be his constant anchor, showing up every day to build a strong, lifelong bond built on trust, shared experiences and unwavering support. Breaking the cycle isn't just something I want to do - it's the legacy I promise myself to give him.
How would you use the $25,000?
Winning $25,000 would fund a dream trip with my son to West Africa, where our DNA traces our heritage. We have talked about visiting Africa, and exploring ancestral roots together would make this more than just a vacation - it would be a life-changing pilgrimage. It's an opportunity to explore, relax and strengthen our bond while honoring where we come from. Giving him that connection to his history, while making unforgettable memories side-by-side, would be priceless.
