There is nothing quite like teaching your kids something new and watching them as it "clicks." Whether it's a shop skill, cooking, riding a bike, whatever it is, seeing them try and keep going is inspiring. When I come home from a trip and they meet me on the landing to welcome me home with hugs, it's just the best. Knowing I'm making an impact and they want their dad around makes me feel loved. But the best is when they teach me something about myself or how to be a better friend to others.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want to raise good humans who make an impact on the world around them, and I want them to be liked. Spending time with them and investing in my kids is an investment in our family, our community, and the world. It's also an investment in myself. My kids make me a better person, so I want to pour into them as much as I can. I want them to have a fun childhood and make memories they carry with them the rest of their lives, and hopefully, they can do the same with their families someday.
How would you use the $25,000?
I'd love to build an epic backyard garden, deck, and play area. I really want to have the type of home my kids want to bring their friends to hang out and for it to be a safe and fun place. My wife and I want to teach our kids about growing our own food and cultivating the world around us. The $25,000 would go a long way in helping us achieve that goal faster. I'd also love to take a big family road trip to the National Parks out west. Creating family memories along the way.
