I love all the random hugs and the obstacles life throws my way, because they push me to become a better man. I’ve overcome a lot to be in my daughter’s life, and having my little mini-me by my side is the greatest reward. She’s my best friend. We share a YouTube channel, The Baby Louie And Daddy Show, where we make memories together. Being a father is one of the greatest blessings in my life.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I make it a priority to focus on my daughter and spend as much time with her as possible. When I was self-employed, I was blessed to take her with me on jobs, creating memories along the way. We also make time to talk one-on-one, without distractions, and have real heart-to-heart conversations. My father and I weren’t very close, so I strive to be the opposite—a present, loving dad. That’s why Louie and I are so close.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use $10,000 to attend trade school and complete the education required to become a journeyman plumber in Oregon. I relocated from Washington to be closer to my daughter, but my plumbing training isn’t reciprocal between the states. I’d use any remaining funds to invest in my new handyman business, purchase needed tools from Ace Hardware, help with living expenses, and buy my daughter some new clothes.
