The most rewarding part of being a father is watching my children's personalities blossom in separate ways. My son is boisterous around the people he loves, displaying his mothers DNA and is reserved around people he doesn't know, displaying my own DNA. My eldest daughter is ALL her mother. She is a bundle of emotions that, without her mother, I would be completely unequipped to deal with. My youngest daughter is the daredevil that I always was growing up. I always find her climbing everything.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I was blessed to have a great Dad growing up. He taught me right from wrong and every day had a new lesson. A great thing my father did was always tell me about the steps he took in life, with his future kids in mind. Things like taking an advanced math course that was unnecessary for graduation because he knew he was bad at math at the time and expected that his kids may struggle with it. Excellent planning. I want my kids to see great examples from their mother and myself. The best Dad and Mom
How would you use the $25,000?
When I found out my wife was pregnant with our first child I immediately expended my GI Bill to go to college and complete 2 degrees in computer programming and software engineering. My wife supported my efforts in taking steps to support our family and now its her turn to pursue her degree. I would pay her degree off, pay off our debts, and whatever is left would be placed into a high yield savings or CD for our children's futures, regardless of whether they want to pursue school or not.
