Watching my kids become best friends is probably the most rewarding part for me. I love seeing my two oldest play together, look out for each other and love their little brother. Nothing makes me more proud than watching them be kind, try something hard, fall down and get back up. They are always ready for the next adventure, and I love getting to experience life through their eyes. Being their dad is hard to beat!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I know my kids are always watching me, and I want to give them an example worth following. I work hard to give them every opportunity I can, but being a good dad is about much more than providing for them. I want to teach them to be kind, respectful, loving, brave and strong. I want them to know it is okay to fail as long as they learn, get back up and try again. I make plenty of mistakes, but I am quick to apologize and always make sure they know how much I love them.
How would you use the $25,000?
The responsible dad in me would put money into my three kids’ 529 plans and UTMA accounts to give them a head start and eventually teach them about money. The fun dad in me would use the rest to build an awesome backyard playhouse with a lounge area, craft space, heat and A/C. My wife had one growing up, and we have always wanted to create that same kind of place for our kids. I want it to be somewhere they make memories now and where our grandkids can play someday too.
