Watching my kids learn who they are is the greatest reward. I love giving them the space to try, fail, get frustrated, and figure things out. Whether it’s sports, school, or something completely new, I don’t want to remove every obstacle—I want them to discover they’re capable of overcoming them. Seeing the moment fear turns into confidence is something I’ll never get tired of.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I want my kids to have the confidence to build a life that is uniquely theirs. My job isn’t to make their path easy or tell them who to become. It’s to give them a strong foundation, let them take risks, and be there when they need me. If I can help them become capable, resilient people who aren’t afraid to chart their own course, I’ve done my job.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use it to create experiences and memories with my kids while investing in their future. Some would go toward a family trip we might not otherwise take, and some toward the things they’re passionate about—sports, activities, and experiences that help them grow. I’d also put a portion toward their future. The best part of being a dad is watching your kids become themselves, and I’d want this money to help make that journey even more meaningful.
