Watching my kids become their own people is the most rewarding part. Seeing two of my sons serve in the Air Force, watching my kids grow in confidence, and being there for the little moments with all of them reminds me how important being present really is. Being a dad isn't about being perfect. It's about showing up, loving them, teaching them, and being someone they can always count on.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my kids are watching, even when I don't realize it. I want them to see what it means to work hard, keep your word, treat people right, and never give up when things get difficult. Being a dad is one of the biggest responsibilities I've ever had. Whether they're my biological kids or kids we've welcomed through foster care, I want every one of them to know they are loved, valued, and worth fighting for.
How would you use the $25,000?
I'd use the money to create something lasting for my family. I'd put some toward experiences and memories with all of my kids, because time together is something you can't get back. I'd also invest part of it into our future and use some to help provide opportunities for the kids we've welcomed into our home through foster care. If I'm given the chance, I want the money to benefit more than just me.
