The most rewarding part of being a dad is being present for my son and helping guide his emotional and spiritual growth. I love when he runs into my arms when I get home, or when I sing ridiculous versions of Old McDonald just to hear him laugh. Fatherhood has brought me more patience, selflessness, and a love I didn’t know existed. Helping him feel safe, understood, confident, and secure in who he is gives my life a whole new sense of purpose.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My family is my “why” and the reason I strive to be the best dad I can be. They push me to stay disciplined in my faith, manage my emotions, and work hard even when motivation is low. I want my son to see a healthy example of masculinity, someone who can process emotions, stay grounded in his values, work hard, and be a loving provider and protector for his family.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I won $25,000, I would use it to create more stability for my family and help others. I would pay down debt, put money toward a down payment on our forever home, and invest in a business I started to provide safe, supportive housing for people working to overcome addiction. It would help me build a stronger future for my family while creating opportunities for others to rebuild their lives.
