Watching my son grow day by day is so fulfilling. Studying what grabs his attention, how he handles roadblocks, seeing his confidence grow, and his abilities improve. He gets off the couch so much quicker than he did last week. He won’t take his first step but somehow he’s an expert climber. He’s learning yes and no and he’s so assertive about what he agrees and disagrees with. And OH MY GOODNESS the face he makes when I get home from work 😭😭😭 I am so proud of everything that boy does.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
This is about being a dad, not a husband, but I feel like I can’t think about one without considering the other. Keeping my family at peace is a huge part of what I want my son to grow up seeing. His mother is listened to, held lovingly, uplifted. All intentionally in my son’s sights. I want him to understand love and empathy just as much as anything else in the world, so striving to be the best dad is hand in hand with striving to be the best husband to me.
How would you use the $25,000?
Nice try, you’ll have to wait until I patent my hairbrained schemes before I tell you about them 😅 but here’s one I can talk about. My long term goal is handing my son financial freedom in his adulthood. That’s pretty vague, so for now, the attainable version of that vision is to invest enough that my dividends start to pay me $400 a week. Once I reach that number, I’ll reassess what next to do with that money. I’m about $35k away from that goal, so 25k would shorten the journey quite a bit.
