The most rewarding part is knowing eight kids look to me for love, safety, guidance and an example of the kind of person they can become. Being their dad means showing not just for the big moments but the hard, ordinary ones too. Watching them grow into their own personalities and knowing I had a hand in helping shape them is something no rank, job, or accomplishment could ever compare to.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my kids deserve a dad who is present, dependable, and willing to keep becoming better for them. Between raising eight kids, homeschooling, military life, and caring for a son with significant medical needs, our life isn’t always easy. I want them to grow up remembering that no matter how heavy life became, Dad showed up. More than anything, I want the way I live to teach my sons what kind of men to become and my daughters what they should expect from one.
How would you use the $25,000?
With eight kids, $25,000 could make a very real difference for our family. I’d use it to create more security and opportunities for our children, while putting a portion toward making our home and property more accessible for our son Waylon who has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair. I spend my life trying to provide for my family, and this would give us the chance to tackle things we normally have to put on the “someday” list and make some memories together along the way.
